  • Apologies : ALICE (Latchezar, Maarten)

  • Dates ?

    • TBD. Needs further discussion and confirmation with VOs, likely to be in March.

  • ALICE plan (based on survey response from ALICE): preferred time is last week of Feb. Same tape write test as done in the last tape challenge

  • ATLAS plan : due to constraints of detector commissioning, DT test is preferred to be in the 3rd week of March, with A-DT test week to be the 2nd or 4th week of March. The same tests as last year tape challenge, but several differences : 1) fake data coming out of TDAQ/SFO, and written to CERN CTA; 2) more realistic RAW data distribution model among T1s. plan under discussion

  • CMS : 1st, 2nd and 3rd weeks in March are fine. In communication with sites. Will use fake data for DT test. srm+https expected be ready by the test.

  • LHCb :  slides here. mid-March is good start date. A-DT to follow DT test, as the written data will be used in the read test.

  • CERN Tier0 : slides here

    • Publicly visible monitoring plots for CERN transfers ? will provide links.

  • Tier1s :

    • NDGF : need to arrange disk buffer to handle higher tape write rate from ATLAS.

    • Doug : need info about data rate, timeline etc.

    • PIC: busy with migration to the new IBM tape library, will still use the old library for the tape challenge as did last time.

    • KIT : new HPSS could be available later in March

    • RAL : new CTA tape system will be ready.

  • Communication

    • WLCG ops will open GGUS tickets with sites, as did last time, as communication channel between sites and VOs

    • The same egroup and slack channel as we did last time will be used as well

    • A google doc is created for VOs and sites to post their plans, relevant links and other info in it.
