Minute 37

Plug-in:

  • Drawings 2D done for the plug-in but not for GM related parts.
  • A first review of Luca will be done next week.
  • A production strategy must be chosen as soon as possible for the BOMs. Reminder: TCTPXH et TCLPX same design and TCTPXV different. Wedges strategy for collimators serie.

Mechanical table assembly:

  • 5 totally assembled + 1 pending for the screw. Jerome passed by B927 to take the CEM related parts for cabling. Part 158 is installed in a corner of the table (added to post-proto follow-up).
  • 3 mechanical tables TCLPX with MORESCO and 2 TCTPXH with LUBRILOG.
  • We need direct dimension of the end stop and antico to do a pre-setting.
  • Dylan will do the new version of the assembly procedure. Check the TCSM/ TCDIL procedure for the torque table.

Jaws transient analysis:

  • Currently 1 model but need the other one.
  • Analysis to be performed before July ideally.

BPM tests and strategy:

  • Discuss with Joel to know with he needs 3 tests and ask if the 3 tests are mandatory for the graphite taperings (because it means a difficult assembly/ disassembly of the jaw in the tank).

Absorber materials update:

  • 3 CuCD blocks with dry machining ready to be sent to CERN. Thermal treatment next week.
  • Asked to Nanoker to measure the tolerance and one of the blocks flatness is not good because of the porosity in surface. The block will be sent to CERN to do a second measurement and then take a decision.
  • Inermet blocks validation terminated with blocks conductivity between 10 and 11 Siemens/m. Next week measurement of the flatness to retrieve the blocks numbers.

Production:

  • Cooling pipes machining finished today
  • Jaw copper parts begin today
  • Around 180 parts under cleaning to pick-up (with the shaft also)
  • FE welding with the EWB bellows will begin on Monday
  • BPM flanges 4+1 welded
  • CuBe reception and sent to chemical cutting (because of the low thickness)
  • Forming of the copper screen ongoing
  • Vessel extremities done
  • RF cycling tool finished both side STI and MME, waiting for materials for finger. Leila updated the stock, material request done. 5 weeks to finish the RF contact minimum.
  • Rhodium will be finished (parts LHCTCLPX__51, 52, 53, 60, 106, 180, 189)

Next big works: tank extremities and jaws with RF fingers

Additional screws:

  • Rodriguez declined it because of the pitch
  • Moog meeting next week
  • SKF, Umbra, Bosch not possible
  • Schaeffler not answered yet

Graphite tapering procurement:

  • Asked to Pablo to order 2 blocks
  • Not the best way to screw in the graphite (special helicoil by the past with snatching test on MoGr)

Update on planning:

  • Blocks ok for beginning of June if there is no iteration with the supplier
  • Check with Joel the impact of the BI tests on the BPM buttons

Update for the serie:

  • MIP of the collimators has to be updated for the serie
