PyDM is an open-source PyQt-based framework for building user interfaces for control systems ( PyDM is developed and maintained at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. PyDM provides an easy connection between GUI’s and EPICS in an accessible programming language with an expansive community of developers. PyDM has seen recent updates including PVAccess, improved graphing tools, and a more intuitive interface for adding Process Variables (PV) to Channel Access to widgets in Qt Designer. PyDM has new features in development, for example expanding PVAccess and developing a custom GUI editor to give users a more PyDM focused development experience compared to Qt Designer. PyDM is an expanding toolset with lots of new features on the horizon.
