Welcome to the SKIRT Days 2022 (30 Nov. - 2 Dec.)
The UGent SKIRT team happily invites current and future SKIRT users, developers and collaborators to attend the upcoming SKIRT Days, from Wednesday 30 November to Friday 2 December in Ghent.
This SKIRT meeting aims at presenting the latest technical developments, showcasing recent scientific results, and discussing ongoing and/or planned research in the broad SKIRT community. In addition, there will be a collaborative workspace for one-on-one discussions in an informal setting.
The two main scientific themes will be:
- Post-processing cosmological hydrodynamical simulations
- Radiative transfer in AGN circumnuclear media
The SKIRT Days will start at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday and end at 13:00 on Friday (with the possibility for further discussions in the afternoon). A detailed timetable will be published later.
The 2022 edition of the SKIRT Days takes place in convention center Het Pand, a former Dominican monastery in the inner center of medieval Ghent.
To register, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. All attendees are invited to present their SKIRT related work at the meeting. Therefore, please include the title of your presentation to the registration email. Note that the number of participants will be limited.
Registration deadline: November 14th 2022.
The registration fee is 100 euros. This includes all coffee breaks and three lunches. Please finalise you registration by proceeding to the payment page.
Ghent is easily reached by public transport from most major cities in Western Europe (there are at least two direct trains to/from Brussels each hour). The nearest airport is Brussels Airport Zaventem.
Ghent is a popular tourist destination, with many hotels and AirBnB's. Room availability should be fine in this period of the year, yet we recommend to book soon.
The SKIRT Days are organised as an in-person meeting in Ghent. At this time, there are no covid-related restrictions in Belgium. We will closely follow the development of the pandemic over the next months.
With further questions, you can contact email@example.com.
Hope to see you in Ghent!
