BGV Integration Follow-up Discussion
→
Europe/Zurich
Main worries identified:
- Collision with survey reserved space (cooling coming from the roof: could be a showstopper!, maybe the vacuum gauge too, depending on its type);
- Cooling power needed still under investigation; if we need cooling water <27 degree, a solution needs to be found to route it from the gallery to the detector without compromising survey needs to align the machine in the BGV areas.
- Collision between largest ring and B2 bake-out jacket: see with them if this is a problem (B2 beam pipe bake-out not possible when the detectors are in place).
- No direct answer yet, to be asked.
Tasks list:
- BGV team: Ask Thibaut to confirm if we can remove BQK (possibly BPLV too?)
- Helene had email confirmation from Thibaut that the BQK H and V will be moved to point 1 or point 5. Nothing concerning BPLV.
- BGV team: ask VSC
- If a new sectorisation should be done; if so how much would it cost
- No sectorisation is not a showstopper; it seems that there is very little space to do it and it would greatly increase the costs.
- If no new sector for the BGV: How often may this sector need to be baked-out due to other equipment in place?
- No direct answer, but it didn't seem to be a worry. The vacuum sector is already quite short.
- If the impossiblity to bake-out the B2 chamber while the detector is in place is a worry (how often would B2 chamber need to be baked-out)
- No direct answer yet, to be asked.
- What type of gauge would be installed on the tank; try to keep it out of the survey reserved space (current solution for the demo: 90deg elbow)
- No direct answer yet, to be asked, but a similar solution than on the demo could be done.
- What level of ancillaries is required by VSC (place needed, for bake-out equipment and pumps: required power, is it sufficient at the new location -> contact EN-EL: Nuno Dos Santos)
- No direct answer yet, to be asked.
- How much longitudinal space they wish to make the interface btween the BGV and neighbour equipments
- No direct answer yet, seems to be ~200mm according tothe distance between equipments on the layout .
- If a new sectorisation should be done; if so how much would it cost
- Teresa:
- Adjust the exact longitudinal position of the instrument once this is fixed.
- Also consider machine coordinate system: 1407, and that the integration models are in 1401. A change of reference system from 1407 to 1401 must happen.
- Include vacuum gauges in both flanges of the vaccuum tank (even though it´s just needed one, the other is spare).
- Check supports accessibility for adjustment purposes.
- BGV team and Teresa: discuss with BE-GM how to include alignment targets: discuss the rigidity of the support of the target and see what is needed from survey point of view (preliminary: just identify possible problems and showstopper; a more detailed study can be done after the review). The geometers must be placed inside the red volume to allow alignment during operation.
- BGV team, Teresa: estimate place needed for detector readout and cables; possibly include it on the drawings
- BGV team: share any feedback on the Integration note; maybe start thinking of gallery aspects, although no showstopper is expected there
