The INFN Falaphel project, whose ultimate goal is the integration of silicon photonics modulators with fast, rad-hard circuits in a 28 nm CMOS process, is carrying out the front-end design activity. The project targets the requirements of the Future Circular Collider experiments, and also aims to develop front-end circuits suitable for the use in a possible post-phase-II upgrade of the HL-LHC experiments.

The design of a 28 nm CMOS, flash ADC based frontend circuit for future, high-rate pixel detector applications is briefly described with the aim to show what is inside all the "triangles" in the front-end channel diagrams.  Some informations about the submitted prototype and the Data Aquisition system needed for the testing are shown.
