Accommodation in Brussels is relatively pricey, with hotels rarely costing below 100 EUR per night. 

There are several hotels in walking distance of the venue, a couple of examples include: 

Travelling within Brussels 

  • Google maps/Citymapper/other map apps work well in Brussels for directions and getting around.
  • MIVB/STIB is the main public transport company of Brussels and includes metro, tram, and buses. 
    • The price of a journey is 2.40 EUR, which includes transfers between lines and/or between the metro/tram/bus for one hour.
    • You can use a contactless card to pay for the journey directly at the blue terminal on the bus or tram, or at the gates of the metro. You might need to tap the same card again when transferring within metro lines or from one bus/tram to another. Note that up to 7.50 EUR (daily) will be pre-booked to your card and only the amount you use will be charged at the end. Other payment options are also available.   • Uber operates in Brussels.
  • Taxis are also an option, see the Brussels Mobility website.
  • City bikes (Villo!) are also available in Brussels at a cost of 1 EUR for one day or 3 EUR for one month. 

Access to the workshop venue

The workshop will take place at Salle Somville on the ULB Solbosch campus, at Av. Jeanne 44

The venue can be reached by bus or tram through the following lines - stops

  • Tram 7 - Cambre-Etoile, or Buyl
  • Tram 8 - Cambre-Etoile, Jeanne, or Buyl
  • Tram 25 - Buyl, or Jeanne
  • Bus 71 - Buyl, or Jeanne

 


 

Arriving in Brussels

Via train

Brussels is easily accessible by train with direct routes from Paris, London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and more. Most trains arrive at the Brussels Midi/Zuid station, but might stop at other stations in the city, so check which one is most convenient for your case.

Via aeroplane

There are two airports near the city: Brussels Airport (BRU) and Brussels Charleroi Airport (CRL).

    • Train (~20 min, 10.30 EUR single trip)
    • Bus 12 (~50 min, 2.40 EUR single trip to the airport, 7.50 EUR from the airport)
