I am a developer of the Awkward Array library, and provide support to the Anaconda team working on the dask-awkward project. My experimental background is in low-energy (nuclear) physics, and I have seen the expression and performance benefits of writing array-at-a-time analyses. It's my belief that Awkward Array represents an cornerstone resource both within the HEP community, and to those outside with as-yet undiscovered use-cases. I'm therefore keen to discover novel applications of Awkward Array, and to better understand existing pain points. In my kick-off talk, I'd like to touch on several aspects of open-source development, alongside packaging, code readability, etc. A smorgasbord!
