WIT Talk with Lorena Lobato Pardavila, Computing Services Specialist at Fermilab

Lorena Lobato Pardavila, originally from Spain, has worked at Fermilab as a Computing Services Specialist since 2018. She moved to Fermilab from Switzerland, where she worked at CERN since 2011 in several roles as DevOps Engineer, Service Manager or Database Administrator. And before that, she worked in Spain as an IT consultant. Lorena holds two MS: one in Computer Engineering and another in Information Systems, which was obtained Summa Cum Laude while she was working. She is currently part of different Education and Diversity groups, for example, the Society of Women Engineers, Women Initiative, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and EDI Task Force. She is a positive-thinking, adventurous, enthusiastic, and dynamic person. She is also passionate about music, psychology, traveling, books, and sports.
Lorena will be interviewed by Florentia Protopsalti. Florentia initially studied nursing at the National University of Athens and after 4 years of studies she decided to change her field and follow engineering. She studied Electrical and Computer Engineering for 5 years at the National Technical University of Athens. She joined CERN almost 7 years ago and has worked on various projects related to Data Management in the IT Department. She is currently member of the Service Management team.
