The scope of the meeting was to set the scope of the project and how to procede.
- Hard Matrix (HM) generators perform calculations . The event then need to be passed to a so-called showering generators to obtain particles. Particles may then decay. The same showe
- An overview of the steps can be found at
- In LHCb we use Pythia8 as general purpose/showering generators for most of the samples to be produced. Decay of particles is always done with EvtGen.
- In Gauss (Sim10) we have a package called LbHard (link to gitlab) to interface the HM so that they are all steered in a similar way and pass their ourput to showering generator
- It was written to support Pythia6 (the Fortran ancestor of Pythia8), Pythia8 and Herwig++ (both in C++, the last has evolved to Herwig7)
- It was initially written to generalise ad-hoc support that had been done for BcVegPy
- There are dedicated packages for each of the HM generators for specific processes
- BcVegPy
- GenXicc
- MadGraph
- Powheg-box (being deployed, earlier version
