Investigation of the extensive possibilities of Garfield for the simulation and visualization of different detector types. The goal is to get to know the functional range of Garfield and to apply it to the detector types defined in the morning.

08:30 - 12:30
Room: 222/R-003
Discussion about the numerical methods and physical models used in the back of Garfield. The goal is to get a clear understanding of how Garfield++ simulates the physics of the detectors and when it breaks down. Possibly modeling a simplified version (but considering space charges, cross section determination not feasible) that predicts performance less accurately but orders of magnitude faster.
