Speaker Information

Speaker Preparation Room

Plenary Speakers are allocated 30 minutes (25 minutes for the talk, 5 minutes of question-and-answer time). Parallel Speakers with a 30-minute session are allocated 25 minutes for the talk and 5 minutes for questions and answers. Parallel Speakers with a 20-minute session are allocated 17 minutes for the talk and 3 minutes for questions and answers.

The Speaker Preparation Room is located in room M5 (Mezzanine Level).

A computerised slide control system manages all presentations contained in the scientific program through a central network. The Speaker Preparation Room is available to receive your presentations during the following times:

Monday 19 August: 8:00am – 4:30pm

Tuesday 20 August: 8:30am – 4:30pm

Wednesday 21 August: 8:30am – 4:30pm

Thursday 22 August: 8:30am – 4:30pm

Friday 23 August: 8:30am – 4:30pm

You will be briefed on how to use the system when you meet the audio-visual technicians. Presenters speaking on the first day of the program should visit the Speaker Preparation Room as soon as possible on arrival. It is not possible to use personal laptops at the podium.

We strongly suggest using PDF as the preferred presentation method, but if you wish to provide a PowerPoint presentation (Windows or Mac), you will need to run through your presentation in the Speaker Preparation Room to ensure that your presentation is correctly formatted.

Please note: Standard PowerPoint presentations need to be adjusted to fit the projector to avoid black edges on your PowerPoint slides. Please ensure your PowerPoint Presentations are in 16:9 and not 4:3.

Presentations on USB must be delivered to the Speaker Preparation Room, or uploaded directly to Indico, preferably the day before, but no later than 2 hours before the beginning of the session. This timing allows for a smooth upload of presentations and a swift transition to the assigned meeting rooms.
