Description
Centrifugal microfluidic technology, applied in the context of Lab-on-a-CD platforms, presents a significant advancement in biomedical diagnosis. A partnership between INESC MN an VitalBio, allowed my research about the utilization of centrifugal microfluidics in blood work analysis and how it simplifies fluid handling in microscale channels, leading to more efficient, precise and fast results. This approach emphasizes fluid mechanics and material selection for CD fabrication, crucial for effective microscale fluid manipulation and cost effective technology scalability. The development process prioritizes prototype refinement, integrating complex systems into a compact and functional format. Collectively, these developments represent a notable progression in medical diagnostic techniques, highlighting the role of microfluidic innovations in enhancing healthcare solutions.
