Releases
- Incoming: additional patches to XRootD 5.6.3
- Last week: no-op split of osg-ca-certs and osg-ca-certs-java packages (today, these contents are the same)
- Context: Certs issued by SHA1 CAs cause hard-to-troubleshoot issues. A workaround (https://opensciencegrid.atlassian.net/browse/SOFTWARE-5745) was identified but this does not work with Java-based software (e.g., dCache)
- We are working on addressing non-RPM installations (e.g., OASIS). The current plan is to base non-RPM installations off of osg-ca-certs-java (i.e., no workaround)
- Tentative plan to update osg-ca-certs with the workaround pushed back to mid-January
- Recommendation: for dCache, update config management to use osg-ca-certs-java. Otherwise, continue using osg-ca-certs
