Present: M. Błaszkiewicz, L. Felsberger, I. Romera Ramirez, D. Westermann
The first part of the meeting was dedicated to the results of the BISv2 SPS model. In the discussion, it was established that:
- There are no CIBFx cards in the SPS Ring, but Extraction to LHC BIS will have more of them.
- SPS pre-op checks will only be run from time to time as they are not included in the sequence - otherwise they would run too often and risk compromising availability (for instance, due to database connection problems, etc.).
- The annual test will not check every user.
- However, all CIBUs will be tested in test mode that does detect all CIBU blind failures identified in FMECA.
- Some users test every year, e.g. vacuum, BIC, MP checklist.
- Recommendation: have users trigger more often:
- Action: complete a sensitivity analysis on increased failure rates and/or increased testing intervals.
- Action: model SPS to LHC transfer line:
- master and slave BIC,
- master to kicker is optical loop,
- has many concentrators.
The second part of the meeting focused on the BISv1 failure analysis leading to establishing failure rates based on field experience with that system.
AOB:
- Timing error last weekend:
- Timing mismatch between LHC and SPS timing following restart of LHC timing.
- Prevented injections, did a dry dump. Apparently first noticed by Ivan and then by OP
