I will talk about the measurement of the lifetime of the Lambda_b baryon at the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment (CMS) at Cern. We use the channel Λ_b -> J/ψΛ.
In the first part I will give a more general view on how such an analysis is set up suitable for a physics audience outside of a collaboration like CMS. In the second part I will show the current status of the measurement.
