Packet marking

- Packet marking HbH option
   - Tristan started working on the prototype, aiming to have it ready for testing before SC24
   - Justin Lurman (Uni. of Liege) reported around 15% CPU hit (40Gbps Intel XL710)

- Events and Outreach
   - Scitags talk from LHCOPN/LHCONE is at https://indico.cern.ch/event/1349135/
   - CHEP 2024 abstract at:
   - Site updates (www.scitags.org) - will add all upcoming events for this year (let me know if you plan to give a talk)

- Firefly (R&E) Collectors
   - Meeting with Andy Lake during LHCOPN/LHCONE workshop
   - Agreed to refactor existing collector with the following goals:
       - Adding Kafka as both input and output plugin (to enable publishing and subscribing to data; publishing already works at ESnet)
       - Simplify current syslog plugin and use UDP as both input and output plugin (already works at CERN)
       - Add transfer rates (bytes/duration)

Storage developments:
- StORM already has a prototype for fireflies - works together with flowd (uses flowd's np_api plugin)
    - Meeting to be scheduled

Packet pacing
- Several updates were presented at the LHCOPN/LHCONE (https://indico.cern.ch/event/1349135/)
- Yatish gave an interesting talk showing that high-touch service sees only small fraction of flows (<0.1% or even less) performing retrasmits. We discussed potential implication this would have on the packet pacing efforts.
