In the context of the annual summer program, the upcoming 10th of July the 70th Anniversary of CERN will be celebrated at the Institute of Nuclear and Particle Physics of NCSR "Demokritos” in Athens Greece. A large participation from the local scientific community, the public, from several Authorities from the government and  Representatives of CERN Directorate and Heads of Groups is expected.

The programme includes a full day, with two sessions split between the morning and the afternoon. During the first session, the past, present, and future of CERN will be outlined by representatives of the Directorate’s office and by experimental and theoretical renown colleagues.  The afternoon session  will focus on the societal impacts. The topics will cover opportunities for students, the technology transfer, the art program, the CERN Alumni Network, the activities of the CERN & Society Foundation, and the collaboration with Greek industry. A round table discussion with all the invited speakers will follow.
