DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Antonio De Lorenzi (Consorzio RFX)\, Andreas Kyritsa
kis (University of Tartu)\, Yinon Ashkenazy (The Hebrew University of Jeru
salem (IL))\, Flyura Djurabekova (University of Helsinki)\, Sergio Calatro
 ni (CERN)\, Chris Moore\, Matthew Hopkins\, Iaroslava Profatilova\, Walter
Wuensch (CERN)\, Marek Jacewicz (Uppsala University (SE))\n\n\nNews:\n \
n\nThe registration is now closed.\n\nAfter the conference\, we will offer
an optional guided tour of the FREIA laboratory for interested participan
ts. The tour will take place in the morning on Friday\, June 6th\, and sho
uld last approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.Transportation will be arranged to t
he Ångström Laboratory\, which houses the FREIA lab\, and the journey ta
kes around 30 minutes. Afterward\, the participants can reach Uppsala cent
er by walking along the river (~30 minutes) or public transport (bus no. 4
)\, ~10 minutes.\n\nPlease note that we must leave Wik's Castle on Friday
morning. Those planning to extend their stay will need to arrange their ow
n accommodations.\n\nKeep in mind that June 6th is a public holiday in Swe
 den.\n \n \nOverview\nVacuum arcs are a concern in nearly every vacuum d
evice under electric field\; consequently they are present in a very wide
range of applications. Sometimes vacuum arcs form the basis for device ope
ration\, but all too often they are the primary failure mode.\nUnderstandi
ng the physical processes of a vacuum arc requires expertise from many dis
ciplines – material science\, surface physics\, and plasma physics. Appl
 ications include high-voltage electronics\, RF accelerators\, electrostati
c accelerators and vacuum interrupters. The purpose of this workshop serie
s is to bring together scientists and engineers from many different discip
lines and application areas to discuss the latest efforts in understanding
vacuum arcs. We cover theory\, simulation and experiments.\nThis workshop
is hosted by FREIA laboratory (Uppsala University) and will run from June
 \, 1st to June\, 5th 2025 at Wik's castle near Uppsala\, Sweden. \n \n\n
