Description

Pratt & Whitney has been studying hydrogen-fueled aircraft engines to enable improvements in fuel efficiency, durability, and life cycle costs of future products. HySIITE (Hydrogen, Steam-Injected, Intercooled Turbine Engine) is a novel aircraft engine architecture designed to take advantage of the unique properties of liquid hydrogen fuel. This talk will offer an aircraft engine OEM perspective on LH2 as an aviation fuel, by providing the motivation for direct-burn hydrogen and an overview of the HySIITE concept.
