Talk Dense QCD

Speaker

Prof. Jens Oluf Andersen

Description

In this talk I will discuss QCD at finite isospin density at zero temperature and zero baryon density. This is system is of particular interest since there is no sign problem and one can perform lattice simulations. I will present results for the speed of sound from NLO chiral perturbation theory (chipt) and the quark-meson model in the Bose-condensed phase. The latter is able is in good agreement with chipt for small values of mu_I and with lattice data
over a large range iospin densities. I also present results for the pion condensate in chipt and it compares favorably with lattice simulations for small mu_I.
