Description

Many extensions of the Standard Model predict the existence of additional, heavy gauge bosons. Both ATLAS and CMS have performed searches for such high-mass states decaying to two charged leptons in the 2011 data. The results of these searches are discussed and differences between the two experimental techniques are highlighted.
