• WP organization:
  • WP1 (Lucia) call for nomination for both SPB and steering group positions sent out. All the structure should be in place by the end of the year
  • WP2 (Nicolas): nothing above the threshold to report

  • agreement on Katja Kruger as a contact for DRD8, sending out mail later.

4 WG1 (Software) Organization

Discussion ongoing with Brieuc François 

 

• We will set up a (Zoom) WG1 kick-off meeting sometime in early 2025 to explain the group's purpose, set the stage, explain guidelines, and give technical information (possibly also with a tutorial). The date and agenda will need to be thought through.
• Set up a DRD6 GitHub organisation to host Key4hep-compliant code that
  • can be useful for others to take inspiration or even re-use some parts out of the box
  • this will be agile and flexible and will lower the barrier to getting code merged because I want to encourage people to contribute
• Part of this, the most central/general components, will be upstreamed to Key4hep to benefit from the central maintenance (critical code has to be maintained thoroughly and I will discuss with the Key4hep team to get their blessing for this strategy
• Plan to set-up a (not too frequent) meeting with the people actively writing code to have a forum for technical discussions
• I would also like to set-up a webpage with basic “getting started” information, policies to follow, useful resources, etc
