Documentary film on the UA1 experiment
Invisible Energy follows the 1984 run of the UA1 experiment. In 1983 the discovery of the bosons W and Z° led to the Nobel prize for Simon Van Der Meer and Carlo Rubbia, the spokesperson of the experiment. This documentary film, part of a doctorate in visual anthropology, enters the daily life at the UA1 experiment of physicists, engineers and technicians. It includes interviews with Carlo Rubbia and with theorists. It raises questions about the future of high energy physics that are of great importance still today. The 50-minute film will be preceded by a short introduction.
