RF measurement techniques

Abstract:
In this introduction on RF measurement techniques we cover some basics on transmission-line theory, explain the concept of scattering (S)-parameters, followed by modulation and frequency mixing, which are the basics of the classical superheterodyne receiver. This brings us to the techniques used in the modern RF measurement instruments, like the spectrum analyzer and vector network analyzer (VNA), used in the RF hands-on afternoon sessions.
