Public Webinar

𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗪𝗲𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿: 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴

Much of modern research, across multiple disciplines, is underpinned by large-scale computing, whether it is simulation, data analysis, or the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning. This big computing has a range of environmental impacts, from the manufacture of hardware through to the energy needed to run it.

Join our panel of leading researchers for a public webinar to hear more about the environmental impacts of big computing and what we can and are doing to address these impacts.

The event will be hosted by Loïc Lannelongue (Cambridge Sustainable Computing Lab, University of Cambridge) with panelists Jyoti Bhogal (Software Sustainability Institute Fellow, Research Software Engineering Asia Association), Laurane Fréour (Astrophysics, University of Vienna), Raghavendra Selvan (Machine Learning Section, Dept. of Computer Science, University of Copenhagen) and Kirsty Pringle (Software Sustainability Institute, Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre, University of Edinburgh),.

The live event is now over.  A recording of the event can be found at https://www.youtube.com/live/JQbdZ7mO3ZA.
