• Action: Frederic to quantify distances from the CAD drawings.

Octupoles

• Still to be designed; the goal is to reduce spatial footprint of at least the last magnet in the line by:
  • Minimizing margins on the magnetic field (avoid overspecification).
  • Reducing aperture size (beam pipe).

  • Provide functional specifications (Philip to share an example).
  • Iterate to finalize a solution.

Sextupoles:

• Preferred approach: Reuse existing magnets where possible.
• See if possible from drawing

Dipole Magnets

• Determine the maximum aperture while maintaining sufficient field quality for electron beam specifications.
• Philip and team can provide measured or simulated field maps for different gap sizes.
• Action: Define the deadline for a final decision on redesign.

Correctors:

• Correctors: Already designed, with a simplified design implemented in CAD.

Cost & Design of Magnets

• Refurbished magnets: ~500 CHF per magnet.
• New magnet design: Estimated at ~25k CHF (if needed).
• Redesigning magnets would require approximately 2 years

 Magnet Thermal Considerations

• Maximum safe temperature for the magnet yoke is ~100°C.
• Other components may be warmer, but temperature distribution must be considered.
