Description
BM@N (Baryonic Matter at the Nuclotron) is the first experiment operating at the NICA-Nuclotron accelerator complex. The main aspects of the physics program of the experiment are discussed. The first physical results are presented on the production of pi+, K+ mesons, protons, deuterons, tritons, Λ-hyperons in collisions of C, Ar beams with different fixed targets at beam energies from 3.2 AGeV to 4.5 AGeV. The experiment collected recently more than 500M events in Xe-CsI interactions. The current results of the analysis of the production of Λ-hyperons, K0S and φ mesons, light hypernuclei and neutrons are shown. Next plans for experiments in beams of heavy ions from Xe to Bi are discussed.
