2007/05/02 Minutes Present: Alessandra, Chris, Paul Apologies: Graeme, Greig, Michel, Frederic, Peter Updates: ======== Chris is starting to use cfengine at RALPP. Discussed the use of cvs as a backend to maintain both the cfengine configuration files and any other file that needs to be copied onto the Worker Nodes. We need to make clear the new cfengine documentation will be maintained in the sysadmin wiki so that people especially in the UK don't keep on referring to the gridpp one if it is going to be dropped. Chris is also cooperating with the monitoring working group to whom he has given the scripts he uses to extract the information from SAM and introduce it into Nagios. He is waiting for a repository for the grid services WG where to put it. Alessandra reported Ian asked her to create one in the sysadmin site, but haven't heard if she can go ahead yet. Chris has also some interesting Ganglia scripts to commit but has to ask T1 about licences because the original script was from a T1 employee. Paul pointed out that ganglia has opened a gmetric repository for people to upload their scripts. The URL is http://ganglia.sourceforge.net/gmetric/index.php?rowname=submitter&sort=%20 and also that SARA has an addon to ganglia to monitor jobs called "Job Monarch'. The wiki is here https://subtrac.sara.nl/oss/jobmonarch and a live page for SARA cluster is here http://ganglia.sara.nl/addons/job_monarch/?c=LISA%20Cluster All this info to be added to the ganglia page... Alessandra has enabled the wiki interlinks to simplify references to other wikies. Enabled links are gridpp, gridsite, CERN twiki, goc wiki, torue wiki, maui wiki. The last one is actually empty. She has rearranged the Main_Page, created a dcache front page, and extended the help on how to use interlinks and started a LCAS/LCMAPS pages. She has given an update about the situation at Hepix. She has agreed with Romain to put each Security article in the OSCT RSS feeds. Other people updates: Frederic wrote the page about MySQL backup but not finished yet and still have to commit a script related to it. Peter has started a ganglia and a pakiti page Jonathan has committed python scripts for dcache management. They are currently in the wiki but he'll commit them into the repository as soon as he has time. Greig has also committed the last two pnfs scripts he had and linked them from the gridpp pages. Discussed the usefulness of the site and if it is full enough to convince other people to write on it. We all agreed the Main Page looks more interesting than 2 months ago and the wiki is starting to be fuller. Possible slot at the ops meeting. Next Meeting ============ Should be on the 16 of May but Alessandra is away so meeting might not take place if Michel is not around either. Actions ======= Action Chris ask T1 about script licences and if possible commit to the repository. Action Alessandra ask WLCG and Hepix to link the sysadmin site to their sites and write to lcg-rollout. Action Alessandra ask about the GSWG repository.
