By plane:

The nearest airport to Santiago, at about 14 km to the city center, is

Santiago de Compostela airport (SCQ)

  • Take a taxi from the airport to "Hospedería San Martín Pinario" or your chosen hotel. The fare is approximately 25€.

  • Take the bus "line 6A". It stops just outside the only airport terminal. Schedule (in Spanish). Ticket cost is only 1€. The ticket can be purchased directly inside the bus (ask driver for "Plaza de Galicia"). The bus stops just outside the only airport terminal. Get off at "Plaza de Galicia" and from there you can walk to "Hospedería San Martín Pinario" (11 min. - see map - when you get off the bus at Plaza de Galicia, turn right and walk in that direction towards the Cathedral) 

  • Santiago is also connected with Madrid by high speed train (~3.5 hours).

 

You can also fly to:

  • Vigo (VGO) or A Coruña (LCG) airports, less than 100 km from Santiago. From there you can reach Santiago either by taxi (costly) or by bus + train.

  • Porto airport (OPO, in Portugal) has direct connections with several destinations worldwide but it is 200 km from Santiago. From there you can either take a taxi (very costly) or a bus to Santiago.
