Eligibility conditions

  • The programme is primarily open to secondary-school physics teachers, as well as university academics involved in training secondary-school physics teachers.
  • Applicants must work for a school / university recognised by one of the three linguistic communities.
  • There are 24 seats, distributed as follows: 14 for the Flemish Community, 9 for the French-speaking Community, and 1 for the German-speaking Community (reflecting the diversity of the Belgian population).
  • For practical reasons, the entire programme - including presentations and visits - will be conducted in English. However, participants are welcome to communicate in any language they share.
  • Selected teachers must participate in the full programme; partial participation is not possible.
  • Selected teachers must obtain authorization from their school or institute prior to the programme.
  • Selected teachers must secure adequate funding (self-funded or supported by their school or other sources) to cover travel and approximately 550 CHF / 600 EUR for accommodation and meals at CERN. CERN will provide all educational activities, as well as the official dinner and one reception.
  • Candidates must apply electronically here before 1 February 2026.
  • Selection will be carried out by partners at Belgian universities active in science-education.
  • Selection decisions will be communicated before end of February 2026.
