An Evening at Suomenlinna – Heritage, Sea and Summer Light
As part of FCC Week 2026, participants will have the opportunity to join an optional evening outing to Suomenlinna, one of Finland’s most remarkable cultural landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Suomenlinna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site just 15 minutes from central Helsinki, is a historic sea fortress spread across a group of islands with around 800 residents. Shaped by Swedish, Russian and Finnish history, it offers an exceptional setting for an evening outing combining culture, heritage and informal exchanges. The total duration of the outing is approximately two hours, including boat transfers and the guided visit.
The outing is designed as a relaxing and educational experience, combining a guided visit with a boat transfer from central Helsinki. It offers participants the chance to discover the history and character of Suomenlinna while enjoying exchanges with fellow FCC Week attendees in a relaxed setting beyond the conference programme.
Transport will be arranged by private boat on board the M/s Amiraali, departing from Kauppatori at 18:30 and returning from Suomenlinna main pier at 20:30.
Guided tours will be organised with the support of the Ehrensvärd Society, with a maximum of 35 participants per guide to ensure a high-quality experience.
