Exploring the Dark Sector with Low-Mass LLPs and Non-Resonant Anomaly Detection

Room: Sunrise (WH11NE) The rich phenomenology of dark sector models offers opportunities for discovering new physics at the Large Hadron Collider. In this talk, I will discuss two distinct signatures and their challenges in the context of the ATLAS experiment: displaced dimuon vertices from low-mass dark photon models, and non-resonant signals from dark QCD models. I will emphasize the continued importance of targeted searches for reaching the greatest sensitivity to specific models, particularly with long-lived particles. I will also highlight the complementarity of novel, signal-agnostic approaches that cover a broader range of unexpected signatures and enhance discovery potential.
