Transport

Athens International Airport is well connected to many cities worldwide. From the airport you can get to the city centre with the blue M3 metro line 3, suburban railway or the X95 bus. Google maps is pretty accurate with public transport routes, though at times street traffic can get heavy and lead to bus delays. Public transportation in Athens accepts contactless payment by tapping your bank card or device. Most international taxi hire apps also work in Greece.

The conference venue is served by several frequent (trolley) bus lines as well as the green M1 metro line, with its "Tavros" station being 10 minutes away on foot

The public talk venue is next to the metro station "Panepistimio" on the red M2 metro line. It can also be reached by buses 220, 221, 235, 608, 622, as well as trolley buses 3 and 5.

Accommodation

Participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements. May is already high season in Athens and so it is strongly advisable to make your travel and accommodation arrangements as soon a possible

Please be aware of scams targeting conference participants supposedly in order to make accommodation arrangements on their behalf.

In the picturesque neighbourhoods of Thissio and Petralona, between the conference venue and the historic centre of Athens, there is an abundance of private hosts offering accommodation through the major platforms. Monastiraki is another, more touristic option also on the green metro line (whereas Omonoia should better be avoided due to safety issues). Alternatively, big hotels closest to the conference venue may be found in the busy Siggrou avenue.
