St. Jan's Church is a monumental church building located on the unique Vrijthof square in beautiful, historic Maastricht. With its location in the heart of the city, the church has a prime location and St. Jan's Church can also be used in combination with other activities in Maastricht or South Limburg. This Gothic church (also known as “Sint Jan van Maastricht”) stands side by side with the Servaas Basilica on the striking Vrijthof square in Maastricht and was originally intended as a parish church for the Chapter of Saint Servatius, so that the basilica would be relieved of some of its burden as a place of pilgrimage. The red tower is a striking feature of Maastricht's skyline.
