The plenary presentation by the TCB on the WLCG Technical Roadmap at CHEP26 on May 26th was well-received. Indico: https://indico.cern.ch/event/1471803/contributions/6968221/
In the meetings two weeks ago with the WLCG LHCC Referees, they endorsed the WLCG approach to be technically ready to use GPU, if needed/wanted by the experiments, in the future. Stefano Piano (former ALICE computing coordinator) is going to coordinate between the WLCG and experiments on heterogeneous architecture plans and will join the chapter facilitators
Planning has begun for OTF#12 (Aug. 25-26, 2026) with a likely theme of AI in WLCG operations and services, as well as planning for heterogeneous architectures (GPUs). We do not have yet a clear “problem statement” for this WLCG OTF, feedback/inputs are welcome.
