RECEPTION ON THE 7TH OF APRIL 2026
The Reception is at 6:30 pm in the big Atrium of Pavilhão de Civil, on the ground floor. Pavilhão de Civil is building number 2 on the map. The same building where the meeting is taking place.
CONFERENCE DINNER ON THE 8TH OF APRIL 2026
The Conference dinner will take place at "Casa do Alentejo", Rua das Portas de Santo Antão 58, 1150-268 Lisboa, on Wednesday the 8th of April 2026 at 8 pm.
There are two different options for the dinner menu, one option with fish as main course, another option with meat. Participants must choose one of them, except for those who asked for a vegetarian meal or else in case of dietary restrictions not compatible with the given choices. The Restaurant will probably require that different tables be assigned to each of these options. Please let us know what is your preference. IN CASE WE DO NOT RECEIVE AN ANSWER BY THE 26th of MARCH 2026, the organisers will choose one for you.
Each menu consists of cold starters - bread, cheese, olives, cured meats; a soup - pumpkin soup with walnuts for the fish menu, soup of tomato grilled with basil for the meat menu (to be confirmed); a main dish; a typical Portuguese sweet for dessert. Drinks include water, red wine, white wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee.
The fish dish is "Arroz de Tamboril com Gambas" - a classic Portuguese seafood dish, essentially a creamy and flavourful monkfish rice stew with prawns. It features tender monkfish fillets with prawns simmered in a rich, aromatic broth usually made with onions, tomatoes, garlic, and fresh herbs like coriander or parsley. The rice is cooked directly in this savoury broth, absorbing all the flavours of the sea and the vegetables, resulting in a comforting, rustic soupy consistency.
The meat dish is "Carne the porco à alentejana" - one of the most traditional and popular pork dishes of Portuguese cuisine. It is a combination of pork and clams, with cubes of fried potatoes and coriander. Usually, the pork is marinated for some time in white wine, paprika, red pepper paste, chopped garlic, coriander, bay leaf, salt and pepper.
Notice that both dishes contain shellfish.
EXCURSION ON THE 9TH OF APRIL 2026
There are two options for the Excursion on Thursday afternoon the 9th of April 2026. Both Excursion depart from IST at 2 pm from the exit Alameda, the one facing the green park/slope. The excursion lasts around five hours.
The choice is first come first served. You should let our secretaries know what is your preference upon registration or by email to the LOC.
There will be two coaches with a guide that speaks English, each coach with 49 seats available.
One of the buses will visit parts of Lisbon:
- Lisbon tour from 02:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Including Jeronimos church inside visit, Belem tower, etc and walking tour by Rossio, Baixa, Praça do Comercio, Catedral, Alfama.
Notice that this tour involves a bit of walking in the Centre of town and Lisbon is bit hilly
The other bus will go to Sintra and surroundings:
- Sintra, Cabo da Roca, Cascais, Estoril tour from 02:00 pm to 7:00 pm, including a visit to Palacio Nacional de Sintra
