DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Marzia Bordone (University of Zürich and CERN)\n\nT
he school is organized under the umbrella of the LHC Heavy Flavour Working
Group. It provides a five day course of training in the physics and tools
of relevance to the flavour programme of the LHC. The purpose is to provi
de a general overview of the immense physics potential of the LHC experime
nts in the area of flavour physics\, with a focus on charm and beauty hadr
ons. The lectures are addressed to senior graduate students and young post
docs who are already working on flavour\, or plan to engage in flavour mea
surements at the LHC. They will cover fundamental elements of theory\, as
well as tutorials on tools\, statistics and analysis techniques specific t
 o flavour physics.\n \nApplication deadline: April 15th. All applications
will be reviewed at that point\, relying in particular on the statement o
f interest that applicants must provide in their application form. The app
licants will be informed the second half of April whether they have been a
ccepted or not. A participation fee of CHF 50 will be charged.\nWe anticip
ate a maximum number of participants around 50.\nNote that several rooms h
ave been pre-booked at the CERN Hostel. They will be available\, after acc
eptance to the School\, on a first-come/first-served. Please check the "ac
commodation" item in the left-side menu for details. \n \nLecturers:\n\n
