Di Carlo (CERN)\, Andreas Juttner (CERN)\n\nLattice QCD is delivering cruc
ial input for precision observables that are used to test the Standard Mod
el at low energies – see the FLAG review and the Muon g-2 Theory Initiat
ive White Paper. The precision required on the hadronic contribution to th
ese observables represents a significant challenge for lattice QCD and lea
ds to large costs in computing time. The hadronic contributions are often
computed as weighted integrals over Euclidean correlation functions\, wher
e the statistical noise at long distances can spoil the precision of the c
alculation. In other cases\, specific hadronic matrix elements are needed\
, again requiring sufficiently large Euclidean time separations between th
e interpolating operators in order to suppress contamination by excited st
ates.\n \nIn this CERN Theory Institute\, we will bring together experts
on reducing the statistical noise on lattice QCD correlation functions tha
t might not often come together for focussed discussions on this topic bec
ause they work on rather different physics observables (e.g. flavour physi
cs observables vs. the muon (g-2) vs. nucleon matrix elements). The goal i
s to review the state-of-the-art and most promising ideas across lattice Q
CD to make progress towards more efficient estimators of correlation funct
ions.\n \nThis Theory Institute is supported by the CERN Theory Departmen
 t and Next Generation Triggers (NGT).\n \n\nhttps://indico.cern.ch/event/
