Vincent shows the new design which increases the surface space by moving the concrete blocks and stairs, and increases the available height compared to previously proposed design (2.55 m below the high beams, 2.77 m below the concrete slab which forms the RILIS cabin floor). 80-cm distance from beam lines to concrete blocks is maintained, for first aid purposes.

Needs to confirm with SCE feasibility of having 4-m high concrete blocks for shielding the stairs.
For height comparison, the cable trays currently installed in the GLM area are at ~2.56 m height.
Note that this is higher than the RILIS office (2.14 m under the beams and 2.3 m to the ceiling) and similar height as the RILIS labs.

Letizia comments that there are no safety concerns for a 2.55-m ceiling height, to host all necessary equipment including routing of HV cables, etc.

Juliana asks is there enough space to crane extra concrete blocks to provide more shielding for Mössbauer experiments? Vincent says yes.

Alternative of movable shielding was also proposed, but this actually takes up a lot of floor space, seems not really suitable for GLM/GHM

The options of adding a small craning underneath one of the beams on GLM was discussed, but this is not usefull since most installations are on wheels. Crane is only needed for concrete blocks.

Guilherme appreciates the increased surface area thanks to the move of concrete blocks, and highlights how we should ensure to respect radiation safety measures while prioritizing the increased surface area.

Suggests to add radiation monitors on the stairs side of the concrete blocks if this can help identify moments when the visitor path should not go up the stairs.
Alexandre comments that this might be hard to coordinate.
Hanne suggests that the stairs and REXTRAP platform can be temporarily/permanently removed from visit's path, since the place is difficult to host a group in any case. Only downside is that it gives a good view on the low energy-side, particularly VITO.

Design freeze foreseen for end of February, so comments and modifications should happen prior to that.

Juliana says that April would be a good time for them to remove equipment from the GLM area (to have the space to install tape station, etc.), as collaborators will be onsite for MultiPAC installation.

Juliana asks if it's possible to see the integration including the tapestation for all the different setups (in particular eMMA and eMIL) since she is concerned whether the space is sufficient to always allow the new implantation chamber to remain in place like it was intended or whether it will need to be moved out.

Carlotta asks if moving the focal point of the GLM beamline further downstream due to installation of tape station would cause tuning/focusing problems. Guilherme comments that it’s easier to focus further than closer relative to the quadrupoles position, so there shouldn't be issues.
