Room: 508/1-001 **Title:** Deformation in A=144 isobars via Coulomb excitation using the Miniball array **Speaker:** Josh Curry (University of Liverpool, UK) **Abstract:** Safe Coulomb excitation measurements with Miniball in the IS708 experiment at ISOLDE were used to study predicted octupole deformation in neutron-rich ¹⁴⁴Ba, as well as other A=144 isobars that appeared as beam contaminants. Preliminary analysis shows population of several low-lying collective states - including new observations in ¹⁴⁴Cs. Extraction of E2 and E3 matrix elements using GOSIA will be performed to give a better understanding of the shapes and collectivity of these neutron rich nuclei.
