Short prototype:

Peter:

• first wants to test the fast RO
• then can design a shaper
• not before 3 months
• we could get a telescope with 10um resolution
  
  

Zdenko:

• HV stability
  • 20mbar over pressure
  • used centering pins to align the HV board
  • HV board (RHS) already without resistors
  • LHS: HV board + readout, RHS: HV and termination board - observed trips and HV oscillations
  • LHS: HV board + readout, RHS: HV board only - observed trips and HV oscillations
  • LHS: HV board + readout, RHS: aluminium cover - OK
  • HV board (from RHS) standalone - OK
  • found a black spot under one of the capacitors, could be the explanation (supported by flipping the board, looking at signals, ...)
  • two new boards ordered, in the meantime trying to mitigate the issue with dielectric glue
• signal shape
  • undershoot with termination board, vs secondary peak with only aluminium cover (without shaper for now)
  • amplitude is large, looks like we are collecting the electrons
  • this is with the slow RO board
  • 3 approaches to signal RO - threshold at half amplitude, 100mV, pedestal (mean noise level) 

Johan:

• fast boards - assembly should start next week

• waiting for an OK from Michal and Francois to start the approval process of all drawings (assembly)

• added O-rings to the vacuum tube drawing
• to be updated with the real HV connectors on the fixation plate
• update material of the spacers - needs information
• prepared drawings for supports holding the tube during the straw installation; Francois - we will modify the old parts

 

Zuzana:

• crimp tubes - will go with Minitubes, negotiations ongoing, 500 pc
• straw plugs (sockets) - ordered 300 pc
• spring pins - ordered 300 pc
• HV plug and HV cap
  • investigation ongoing
  • sputtering - Surcotec? We will see on Wednesday.
  • machining - not sure yet
  • material - aim for Ultem
