Information sheet for students
By participating in the IdeaSquare Planet programmes and events, you agree to be a subject in research conducted by the internal research team of IdeaSquare and, in the case of a distinct subconscious creativity research module (described below), by research partners from University of Oulu.
General research topics studied internally at IdeaSquare include students’ engagement throughout the programme, team dynamics, students’ approaches to tackling wicked sustainability problems, and possible other topics related to improving the I2P program.
In addition, a module for subconscious creativity development is being executed in collaboration with University of Oulu, including reflective assignment (for some) and questionnaires. The research focuses on researching how subconscious creativity be tapped through self-reflection and conscious actions as a part of the team-process.
Information on data collection and processing
The data that can be collected during the educational programmes at IdeaSquare is the following:
· Student’s deliverables in all formats. This implies you accept that your work is used for research purposes;
· Observations of interactions between students and between students and facilitators (during teamwork sessions, facilitation sessions and during presentations);
· Recorded interviews with students;
· Questionnaires.
· Possible reflective exercise on subconscious creativity
The legal basis of the collection and processing of the data is the execution of a public service mission of research.
Only the data that is strictly necessary for the realisation of the research will be collected and treated. All data, including personal data, will be anonymised before processing.
As necessary, a part or the totality of the data collected will be analysed by the IdeaSquare team. In addition, a member of the IdeaSquare team Giulia Gaddi will use part of the data for their own PhD thesis in Anthropology regarding innovation activities at IdeaSquare. As to protect the confidentiality of your data and prevent its divulgation, all data is stored in secured locations (physical and digital) where it can only be accessed by IdeaSquare researchers.
Data related to the subconscious creativity research module can be, in addition, stored and analyzed by research team at the University of Oulu, Industrial Engineering and Management for Nina Jackson’s PhD thesis in Industrial Engineering and Management regarding Creativity pedagogics. As to protect the confidentiality of your data and prevent its divulgation, all data is stored in secured locations (physical and digital) where it can only be accessed by the University of Oulu Industrial Engineering and Management researchers.
All data collected for research purposes will be conserved only for the duration of the research.
