DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nICARUS is the world’s first large liquid-argon neutrin
o detector\, and the technology pioneered for the experiment will be the t
emplate for future neutrino experiments.\nThe ICARUS collaboration studied
neutrinos at Gran Sasso National Laboratory in Italy — operated by the
Italian Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) — from 2010 to 2013 under t
he leadership of Nobel laureate Carlo Rubbia. The ICARUS experiment pionee
red the use of a new technology for spotting neutrinos using liquid argon\
, 760 tons of which fill the ICARUS detector.\nNow at Fermilab\, as part
of the SBN program\, ICARUS will search for the long-theorized but never-d
etected sterile neutrino.\nICARUS’s liquid-argon detection technology wi
ll also be adapted for the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE)\, F
 ermilab’s flagship.   \nThe 2026 Spring ICARUS Collaboration Meeting w
ill be held in Catania (Italy).\n \n\n\n\n\nContact: delia.salmieri@cern.
