 elcome Dr. Ulrike Williams\, former FSP-ATLAS researcher at University of 
 Freiburg and Technical University Dresden\, later working on studies for C
 LIC at CERN and now Patent Attorney at GLAWE DELFS MOLL in Hamburg.\nAfter
  transitioning from academia to patent law in 2021\, Ulrike now works at t
 he intersection of science\, innovation\, and intellectual property. In he
 r talk\, she will share insights into her move from particle physics to th
 e legal profession\, reflect on transferable skills from research\, and ex
 plain how analytical thinking and technical expertise translate into the f
 ield of patent and utility model law.\nWhat does it mean to protect innova
 tion in areas such as physics\, optics\, computer-implemented inventions\,
  or semiconductor technology? How technical is the daily work of a patent 
 attorney\, and which skills from academia truly make a difference in this 
 field? Ulrike will offer insights what the training for becoming a patent 
 attorney involves\, into her professional practice\, reflect on key compet
