A visit to one of Italy’s leading technological infrastructures, hosting advanced computing facilities and data services for scientific research. The site is part of the Bologna Technopole and hosts the INFN-CNAF datacenter as well as the Leonardo supercomputer managed by CINECA. Transportation by bus (10 minutes) will be provided.

ARZ – The Renato Zangheri Archive for Cinema and Photography at the Cineteca di Bologna

A State-of-the-Art Archive, the film and photographic archives of the Cineteca di Bologna. More than 100,000 film reels, including some of Italy’s most important film collections spanning from the 1910s to the present day, and 3 million photographs documenting the great films in the history of cinema. Above all, it preserves an immense visual heritage that tells the story of our city through the eyes of the photographers who lived and documented it. The Film Archive within a total area of 6,400 square metres, the facility currently houses six climate-controlled storage vaults dedicated to the preservation of film and photographic materials, covering a combined surface area of 2,100 square metres. The Photographic Archive currently consists of four storage vaults, each measuring approximately 50 square metres, maintained at a temperature of 13°C and a controlled relative humidity of 35%. Like the film archive vaults, these spaces are equipped with dedicated entry and exit corridors for the safe handling of materials.
