About INFN-CNAF

The workshop is organized by INFN-CNAF (Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare – Centro Nazionale Analisi Fotogrammi), the main computing centre of INFN and one of the leading scientific computing facilities in Europe.

CNAF hosts the Italian Tier-1 centre of the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG), providing large-scale computing, storage, and data management services to support the experiments at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider, as well as a wide range of national and international scientific communities.

The centre is based in Bologna, Italy, and has recently relocated to the DAMA Technopole, a major hub for data-intensive science and high-performance computing. This state-of-the-art infrastructure also hosts Leonardo, one of Europe’s most powerful supercomputers operated by CINECA, as well as the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) data centre, making the Technopole a unique environment for cutting-edge research and innovation.
