Venue

The workshop will be held in the physics department of the University of Torino, seated in Via Pietro Giuria 1, near to the city center

• 10 minutes walk from metro stop Nizza directions
• several restaurants, bars in the vicinity for lunch
• coffee breaks will be in the department

 

Reaching Torino

• By Plane

  If you arrive in Torino by plane you can reach the center of the city (Porta Nuova or Porta Susa train stations) either:
  • by bus using the FLIBCO company (takes about 45 minutes).

  • by bus using the ARRIVA company (takes about 1h).

  • by train (takes around 30 minutes to Torino Porta Susa station). This is the best way of reaching the center from the airport during working hours.

  • by taxi. The cost should be around 40 euro from the airport to the city center.

Once you arrive in Porta Nuova or Porta Susa stations you can follow the instruction in "By Train" section.

If you arrive in Milano Malpensa by plane you can reach Torino by bus using:

• • the ARRIVA company https://torino.arriva.it/en/airport-line-torino-malpensa-airport/.
  • the FLIBCO company: https://www.flibco.com/en

The ride takes about 2 hours and costs around 22 Euro.

Alternatively, you can reach Torino from the Milano Centrale train station with a Freccia Rossa train, which takes about 1 hour. The train can be booked here: https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html.

• By Train

From Torino Porta Nuova train Station you can take a taxi or just walk to the Conference place. It’s 15-20 minutes walking distance.

If you arrive by train at Torino Porta Susa or Torino Porta Nuova stations take the subway (direction Bengasi) and get off at Nizza Station. The ticket costs around 2.00 Euro. From the Nizza station to the venue please check the section Venue above.

• By Car or Bus From CERN

Torino is quite close to CERN. By car it can be reached in about 3 hours and a half. Alternatively, it can be reached by bus using the FLIXBUS company from Geneva https://global.flixbus.com in about 4 hours.
