DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Chiara Pasquino (CERN)\, Raymond Veness (CERN)\, Ale
xander Lunt (University of Bath (GB))\n\n \n\nThe Low‑Density Materials
Workshop for Particle Accelerator Applications will bring together resear
chers\, industry partners and laboratory specialists to examine how lightw
eight and nanostructured materials can address emerging challenges in acce
lerator technology. Over two days\, the programme will consider community
needs in areas such as high‑energy deposition\, surface modification\, s
afety and handling\, and the growing production capabilities for CNT‑ba
sed and other low‑density systems. Sessions will cover thin‑target beh
aviour\, thermal modelling\, damage processes\, and the latest development
s in characterisation and simulation. By drawing together expertise from m
aterials science\, accelerator physics and advanced manufacturing\, the wo
rkshop aims to identify current limitations\, highlight promising directio
ns and help shape a coordinated strategy for future research and developme
nt.\n\n\nHeld 8–9 June at the University of Bath\, the workshop offers a
focused setting within one of the UK’s leading centres for engineering
and materials research. The event is structured to allow time for technica
 l discussions\, collaboration-building and informal exchanges across the c
ommunity. Bath is easily reached via Bristol or London Heathrow airports\,
with straightforward onward travel to the city. The programme includes op
portunities to explore the campus and the wider surroundings\, combining m
odern research facilities with Bath’s distinctive architecture and lands
cape.\n\nHotel Options Near the University of Bath\n(All within roughly 1.
