 Recent progress in parton showers and resummation has led to the developme
 nt of new showers with higher logarithmic accuracy. This study investigate
 s these showers in an event generator environment\, with particular focus 
 on their interactions with non-perturbative physics. To this end\, we comp
 lement the Catani-Seymour dipole shower framework in Herwig with the k_T-o
 rdered PanGlobal and Forshaw-Holguin-Plätzer showers\, and simulate all t
 hree with NLO matching and cluster hadronisation. We evaluate differences 
 among them using cluster mass spectra and tune them to study their impact 
 on the cluster hadronisation parameters. We observe that the new shower mo
 dels provide improved infrared behaviour with respect to parton multiplici
 ties and cluster mass spectra\, which affects their sensitivity to the had
